Episode 2: Dearest Blue follows childhood friends Rio and Mamoru, whose close relationship becomes entangled in a dangerous game built around money, influence, and control. Rio unexpectedly enters the entertainment world after participating in a beauty contest and becomes an idol, unaware of the darker circumstances surrounding her new position. Mamoru discovers that Rio has become the central prize in a secretive game known as “Sacrifice,” in which powerful participants compete for access to her. Determined to protect his childhood friend, he infiltrates the game himself, taking on a role that allows him to remain near her while concealing the true reason for his involvement. As Mamoru attempts to protect Rio from the people manipulating the game, the situation becomes increasingly difficult to control. Rio remains unaware of the full danger surrounding her, while Mamoru struggles to keep his intentions hidden and prevent her from becoming completely trapped. The story combines an idol-industry setting with a darker relationship drama, focusing on the contrast between Rio and Mamoru's longstanding emotional connection and the corrupt system that places Rio at its center.
